Session 1

Sassani, Kathra, Ryo and Chae are dispatched by Shava to retrieve a convoy of gold and precious metals that is being transported through the Scarlet Butterflies' territory without paying bribes to the gang. After successfully scouting the convoy, the gang blocked the road with a felled tree and waited for them to approach. Kathra and Chae attempted to “reason” with the bandits, trying to extort the bribe money from them and leading towards convincing them to give up the shipment, but the guards were unconvinced.

A fight ensued, with Ryo opening fire from the top of a nearby tree and the others engaging the three guards and carriage driver in melee. As the combat turned against them the guards attempted to flee, unloading the contents of the carriage on to a horse to escape. The bandits killed the horse and chased down the guards, ensuring there were no survivors. They stole the guards armour and weapons, reloaded the wagon, and transported it back to Dejang-e.

In Dejang-e they made a deal with Mahra Mahmi, a local fence who works with The Butterflies, to hide the wagon for them in exchange for the bulk of the trade goods it contained. The bandits loaded the money onto the horses and carried on to Otgon Sum.

On arriving at Otgon Sum they are summon to Shava's chambers. They handed across the captured gold, which Shava halved and returned half to the group. She is about to explain the next misson to the group when they are interrupted by Jendrayana and Admar, who claim to urgently need to speak with her.

The group are dismissed whilst Shava, Jendra and Admar talk, then called back in afterwards. Shava tasks them with travelling back to Dejang-e, where they are to lay low and listen out for any unusual goings-on, as she believes there is a threat to the gang approaching. The party sleep for the night and head back to the village the following day.

Ryo heads to The Whale (the bar), where he finds Nosriya, a local shepherd, lamenting the loss of his goats to a monster in the forest. Ryo agrees to investigate the attacks in exchange for a goat of his own should he succeed.

Chae-rin-Shen spends some time with the local women, listening in to their gossip. She discovers that the village elder, Mahssa Nouri, is upset about something, but no-one is clear exactly on what.

Sassani goes to the warehouses to help out with manual labour tasks. She overhears the foreman arguing with a trader whose caravan hasn't arrived. She joins the conversation and discovers that both suspect bandits have hit the caravan, and are annoyed that the village appears beholden to bandits who do nothing to help them.

Kathra goes to the village shrines to help the sick. She is approached by a local herbalist, Kiyani Doosti, who asks to borrow some of her herbs to help treat a sickness spreading throughout the village. He says that the normal locations where he would have harvested the herbs do not appear to be growing, citing suspected problems with the soil in the area causing the plants not to grow.

The party reconvenes in the evening and decides to address the problems from easiest to hardest: the goat herd, the headwoman, the dying plants and the missing caravan. Sassani travels back to Otgon Sum overnight to inform Shava, who is very interested in more information regarding the bandits, but advises Sassani to help others where possible as well.
