====== Session 29 ======

The party moved through the spider's village until they reached the temple in the centre. Chae-rin tried to convince the spiders to leave, and got through to a few, but as they ran they were harpooned by something from the inside which dragged them, screeching back in.

The party advanced into the temple, but as soon as Kathra crossed the threshold she was harpooned and dragged up the ceiling into a nest of huge spiders. A tough fight followed, with the party eventually prevailing but only with a number of casualties on their own team. Luckily, Kathra was able to directly summon Kazan to the battlefield, who bought everyone back to full health just as things seemed most bleak.

With the spiders vanquished Sassani was able to follow her amulet to where it had been dragging her; the book on the pedestal in the temple. As she opened it she blinked out of existence, leaving the others in the party lost and tentatively exploring the rest of the temple for some sign of what had happened.

Sassani found herself in a more pristine version of the temple the party had been in. Tso Lan whispered in her ear that there were pretenders in its temple, and that Sassani shouldn't trust them. Sassani saw five people on the balcony looking at her, and rather than trying to frighten them off went straight on the offensive. After the first few blows were exchanged the five split and ran, leaving Sassani to explore the temple from her side.

She deduced that the bowl the temple was sat in the centre of was designed to channel energy towards the centre, with the sigils inscribed in the stone related to opening some sort of gate. Tso Lan told Sassani to take the book back into Maikhan and use it to open a door for it to enter the Empire.
