Session 14: Winter Special
A royal wedding approaches. The group are tasked by Qutai to break into the upcoming wedding celebration, in which the Serpent and Lion Clans will be exchanging a number of magical artefacts to strengthen their bonds. The group are to get in, steal the artefacts, and escape without detection.
After a lot of planning the group attend the ceremony, complete with a number of forged artefacts they hope to replace the originals with. Unfortunately, as they put their plan into action, the ceremony is interrupted by a number of magical creatures who spread ice and mist across the grounds. Led by a mysterious man called Emmeran, the group claims to represent Ertong Ruchong, one of the Great Dragons, who is displeased with how soon the wedding has fallen after the Winter Ceremony in which it is honoured. In penance, they demand the artefacts for Ertong's collection.
The Royal Guards refuse this request, and a fight breaks out between them and Emmeran's forces. Ice Mephits begin freezing attendees, and Ice Serpents assault the troops. The group use the cover as an opportunity to try to steal the artefacts for themselves, but are drawn into the conflict, using the guards and divine beings as necessary to advance on the tent holding the artefacts. With both sides depleting their forces attacking each other, the group engineers an explosive Shatter in the artefact tent, making off with the items whilst making the assaulting creatures responsible.
